All of us in the Secret Stages family hope you are well, staying safe, and finding some sort of path through this mess. This message is to announce that Secret Stages 2020 is cancelled. This was to be the tenth annual Secret Stages Music Discovery Festival. All of us who take part in organizing this event are deeply disappointed we won’t be able to present to you our surprises, our upgrades, and what was shaping up to be an incredible lineup. The uncertainty over what will and will not be allowed come August, the financial strain that our traditional partners, both public and private, have undergone, and the lost months of planning and fundraising have forced us to take a live to fight an-other day mindset.
To everyone who has bought advance tickets, please know we are working hard to give you value for your purchases. At this point, Secret Stages is not able to offer cash refunds. It is our intention to come back strong with an incredible event in 2021 and we anticipate making all 2020 ticket purchases good for the 2021 festival.As things become clearer we can develop a plan for offering refunds to those who do not want to attend the 2021 event. Updates will be available on our website. The shutting down of the economy has devastated the event industry and we are asking for your patience as we navigate the next few months.
Secret Stages has no intention of going anywhere. We are eternally grateful for the support that Birmingham and the region has shown us. From our loyal attendees to our faithful partners, our passionate volunteers to the hundreds of artists, we are lucky to have been embraced by this community for the last 10 years.
While Secret Stages 2020 won’t be an event, it also won’t be dormant. In the com-ing weeks and months we will be looking for ways to support our community and specifically the local music industry. We invite you to keep in touch at this website, find us on social media, and sign up for our newsletter in order to keep track of what we’re up to and for potential ways that you can help.
