Skipp Coon is a husband, father, son, visual and performing artist. His world is colored brightly, in shades of red, black and green. Skipp is a native of Jafrica (aka Jackson). He is a by-product of growing up in Mississippi, a state with rich history, deep pain and great potential.
Skipp has been learning and working to improve his community for the past 10 years and doesn’t foresee himself doing anything else. As an artist, with his trademark black empowerment lyrics, the hip hop artist has performed nationally and internationally and has cultivated a loyal fan base. He takes the passion of his work in his community into classrooms, meetings with parents or council members, and to the stage.
