“…She owned that mic and stage like second nature. As soon as she finished her last verse a guy behind me said to no one in particular, “Murder she wrote.” He spoke the truth. Dope girl magic, for sure.”
You may know Boog Brown from her first publicly released project, Grind Season Volume 1 (2009) produced almost exclusively by Illastrate. Or perhaps you’ve only heard Brown Study (2010), produced by Apollo Brown.
If you don’t know her at all, Welcome.
Boog Brown started rhyming, “for real”, in 2007 when she moved to Atlanta, GA from Detroit, MI where the spark began. Of course she wet her feet in the cypher first, starting with the Neva Empty Crew in college then learning from the likes of Invincible, Marvwon, Quest Mcody, Miz Korona and so on and so forth.
Boog learned about music from legends like House Shoes, Big Tone, Ta’Raach and DJ Dez and never imagined she’d be here right
now.
Since she decided to make this real, Boog worked with many of the aforementioned artist as well as Apollo Brown, yU (1978ers), 14KT, The Black Opera, Stahhr, Rita J and Georgia Anne Muldrow while gettin the stamps of approval from heavyweights like Diamond D and Large Professor.
In 2010 Brown Study came out via Mello Music Group and now, her highly anticipated follow up musical venture, titled The Late Bloom, will be apart of the Soul Spazm catalogue.
The Late Bloom is a story of transformation and acceptance of self, produced by Joe D. (Gods’illa, Dirty Water), Illastrate (Black Noise, Eddie Coleman’s F.N.T.M) and Lex Boogie from the Bronx (School of Sharks, Broady Champs). Released physically first in August 2013, Soul Spazm will release it digitally in Early October 2013.
Look for work with Batsauce (Berlin), 10th Letter (Atlanta) And More 2014.
