“Hip-hop priestess in the making Cipherella is blasting this message across the globe, and we couldn’t be more for it. With the premiere of the video for her latest track ‘Dumb Dumb’, the Alabama-bred, NYC-based artist is using her voice to set a new tone, shaking us from our trance and grooving us in a more fulfilling direction.”

Diversifying the universal portfolio for emcees is a must, and Cipherella has made it her mission to do just that. Born and raised in Tuscaloosa, AL, Cipherella is a talented emcee, songwriter, producer, and musician who is skilled in the art of storytelling. In 2013, Cipherella relocated to New York and had since solidified herself as an artist. She served as the host for New York’s longest-running monthly open mic at the infamous NuYorican’s Poets caf. She has been a contributing writer for M-Pire Magazine and a reappearing guest judge for Supreme Bars: The Ultimate Emcee and Producer Battle. Cipherella appeared on Sway in the Morning as a participant for the infamous “5 Fingers of Death ” freestyle cypher. One of the co-hosts deemed her a “sniper” after hearing her verse. Cipherella’s visual release of “Moments” was internationally recognized, winning twelve video awards and numerous acceptances into film festivals. Comparable to Queen Latifah and Bahamdia, Cipherella is entirely vocal about expressing frustrations and agitations through her dominant, cultured, and quite often-rebellious lyrics.
Far different from what one would expect, Cipherella travels against the stream while still delivering music we all relate to. Influenced by MC Lyte, Tupac Shakur, Outkast, Joi Gilliam, and Erykah Badu, those who have followed Cipherella’s career can agree that her style is unique and ever-evolving.
